ELKHORN LODGE OUTDOOR ADVENTURE INFORMATION:
 
Hike (Old Man Summit or Elkhorn Mountain Summit):
The Elkhorn Lodge & Guest Ranch represents an entity where the range of amenities are far more significant than finding a lodge or hotel for sleeping. Our guests are typically outdoor types that enjoy having numerous mountain-based activities at their front door. At the end of the day, they are too tired to want TV.

The hiking opportunities are virtually unlimited. Starting with the higher and more challenging mountain hikes, many Elkhorn Lodge & Guest Ranch guests ascend the higher peaks in the Estes Park area. For those guests having the physical capacity, the experience of climbing to high altitudes is such that it is never forgotten. Many of our guests venture to the Old Man Mountain Summit at approximately 8,500 feet or venture out on our many trails to the Elkhorn Mountain Summit.



Birding: Arise early in the morning and have your own private bird sanctuary of birds to view on the Elkhorn Property.

Fall River Fishing:
One quarter mile of the Fall River flows directly through the Elkhorn Lodge & Guest Ranch property in Estes Park, CO; providing excellent trout fishing at a convenient location. Adults typically fish the Fall River, which runs next to the Trout Pond. This river produces some of the largest fish caught each season, including both rainbows and browns. It is also an excellent river for fly fishing later in the summer, where our 'fishing' guests fly fish each morning and afternoon with considerable success; they generally practice a catch-and-release policy, although it is not required. Fishing licenses are not required.

Check out the free fly fishing clinics (not offered every day) on Fall River and on the Huck Finn Trout Pond.

Elkhorn Lodge & Guest Ranch Outside Activities:
Outside activities include: volleyball, horseshoes, campfires and a children's playground.
